At certain points of life, when it gets too mundane, or too painful to live, people find ways to escape. Sometimes when you meet problems that you don't know or don't want to face, the first thing you can think of is run away. We (sorry if i don't speak for you) all have our coward moments, just a matter of how long and how you can live with them.
Lies & illusions - the intangibles, you realise they're everywhere. Sometimes you lie to protect yourself or the ones you love, is it really about being selfish or noble? Do you like being lied to (even for the best reason you can think of)? The part that really hurts is not knowing the truth, but discovering that your loved ones lied to you. It tears you up, it makes you feel deluded; the trust is broken and things are just never the same anymore.
Just so, how often can you do something without hurting or disappointing anyone? It's too tiring to live up to endless expectations that people have of you, you are no superman. But lying ain't gonna help, it adds on to the expectations and there goes the onset of the whole cycle of lying. Before you know it, everything's killing you. Speak, talk, whatever, get it out of your system. If they're really interested, they'd want to know what you really think and how you feel (which is sadly not always the case).
I always thought it's easier to lie. But i realised that i've been lying to myself all along, and i'm tired of being deluded. It may appear that i get away with it, but i never do and i never will. I'm still learning and trying to find courage to tell you the truth (that is if you're interested to know). It's easier said than done.
